Press Operator

Job Purpose

  To monitor the pressing process and ensure an adequate supply of boards moving to saw line in feed.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Adjusts material flow through blenders to regulate wafer levels in core and surface bunkers.
• Uses operational data to control Forming/Pressing/Unloading process, reduce variation, adjusts controllers, monitoring mat condition, weight, forming line conditions, alarms, load transfer, time to position and cycle time, per QMS standards
• Monitors Press temperature, adjusts controllers as needed, per Press Fire Prevention Module
• Maintains exemplary Environmental records; excursions, upset conditions, and other reporting as required
• Logs downtime and notes causes, prepares Failure Analysis reports
• Maintains specific Pressing parameters to ensure quality mat formation, press cycles, unloading cycles, per QMS
• Expected to maintain 100% compliance with Environmental, Housekeeping standards, policies for area
• Uses radio to maintain contact with press aid, lab personnel and supervisor
• Expected to train operator safely, efficiently in operations of Forming/Pressing, Pneumatics and RTO processes
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
• Perform other assigned responsibilities
• Complete control plans and operational cheek sheets monitoring production process

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of complex equipment operation.
• Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
• Time management skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

• 1 – 2 years’ experience in equipment operation.
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
