Job Purpose

The Business Systems Analyst acts as an intermediary between the finance and information technology departments. The Analyst will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration and support of critical enterprise financial systems while ensuring adherence to regulatory reporting requirements and internal controls. They will also be responsible for collecting, clarifying, and translating business requirements into documentation and conceptual design from which applications and solutions are developed.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead in the maintenance and administration of financial systems, such as Ariba, Blackline, and Planful, in partnership with internal resources, support business process and technology. Provide support in the maintenance and administration of SAP-ECC general ledger system.

  • Provide functional and technical support in the execution of finance processes, including: interaction with business users, identification and documentation of SOPs, gathering business requirements, functional testing, and change management. Provide analytical and technical support to team members and end users

  • Analyze complex, cross-business, and cross-functional issues surrounding LP’s business processes and systems.

  • Partner with the business by administering and troubleshooting the Financial Systems, including, but not limited to Chart of Accounts, Account Groupings, Reporting Hierarchy Changes, Workflow Management, and Interface Exceptions.

  • Support and maintain various platforms, processes, and existing integration with other systems.

  • Monitor the performance of new and existing applications to troubleshoot issues and recommend enhancements to optimize or enhance current processes. Evaluate effectiveness of current and to be processes by making recommendations for improvement.

  • Partner with external vendors to develop business and technical requirements that align with system goals/capabilities.

  • Ensure functional work activities are conducted in compliance with technology and SOX requirements, related policies and procedures, and corporate objectives.

What do I need to be successful?

  • 5+ years business, functional, or operations experience.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Proven experience with Business Analysis techniques and ability to communicate with Finance management.
  • Experience with SAP-ECC, Ariba, and Blackline are highly desired.
  • Experience with Planful preferred
  • Ability to influence change.
  • Strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills.

  • Results-oriented with the ability to bring teams together to achieve targets and goals.
  • Super-User Level of Proficiency in business applications in one or more business process areas.
  • Advanced technical & functional knowledge within SAP FICO and related process areas. Experience with Product Costing or Material Ledger strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication / presentation skills.
  • Proven knowledge of business terms and business modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and Windows software applications.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, technology, or related field.


Work Environment

  • Remote or hybrid work environment if local to the greater Nashville area

  • Minor travel (if remote) to the Nashville office could be required
