IT Applications Architect- PTP/Supply Chain

Job Purpose

The IT Application Architect will provide both tactical and strategic business process support as a member of the IT Center of Excellence (CoE) team by representing procurement and supply chain area.  They will act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for users within their respective business/functions in the execution of multiple business processes using available systems and applications.  They will lead complex business and/or functional project teams in implementing strategic improvements to business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define procurement and supply chain systems destination architectures and roadmaps based on business strategy, industry trends and innovation
  • Lead or Participate Prioritization and rationalization of conflicting business, information, and technology requirements on enterprise level
  • Lead or Partner in any IT Product selection and procurement process along with business
  • Simulates and tests process improvements; executes and/or coordinates unit testing activity.
  • Communicate changes and supports change management to impacted business units.
  • Provide troubleshooting of problems and addresses user support questions. Performs testing and sign-off of application changes and enhancements
  • Support master data stewards to ensure an appropriate level of data quality and master data management.
  • Collaborate with external Application Management Services (AMS), when needed


  • Broad Ariba functional and configuration experience
  • SAP ECC functional and configuration experience in MM modules
  • Good knowledge of master data in SAP and integration points
  • Working knowledge of XML language and prior mapping knowledge/experience
  • Experience and/or basic knowledge of Ariba’s Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG)
  • Experience and/or basic knowledge of Vertex or other integrated tax software applications


Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.


  • 7+ years of experience in SAP Procurement and Supply Chain systems.
  • Experience with Ariba and SAP ECC required.
  • Experience with roadmap planning and implementing business systems, to solve business problems
  • Demonstrated application development skills
  • Ability to work well with a variety of internal and external groups
  • Strong time management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
