Join our growing team! In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
- Identify, develop, and lead implementation of new, and modifications to existing, weathering exposure programs and studies to evaluate durability and risk of degradation due to exterior exposure of product portfolio
- Create technical specifications, analysis protocols, and comprehensive reporting for accelerated and long-term exposed evaluation of new and revised product designs, encompassing all elements of product construction and intended installation
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, technical contractors, research partners, and suppliers to design, implement, and interpret these studies, including all qualitative and quantitative experimental data collected to classify material durability and performance
- Conduct periodic surveillance of studies at all internal and external testing sites, including but not limited to some lab-scale test execution, test fence sample installations and evaluations, and customer location visits
- Evaluate and classify relationship between simulated, accelerated exposure testing and long-term exposure results
- Plan and manage benchmarking and other competitive research activities including investigation of new exposure and degradation evaluation technologies
- Assume responsibility for personal safety and for the safety performance of all personnel, projects, and programs managed
- Ensure effective communications and coordination with all related departments
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety and environmental rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned

Experience
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in design, execution and evolution of accelerated and/or long-term performance evaluation programs for products designed to weather elements or equivalent combination of experience
- Expertise in general scientific practices, including but not limited to principled study design, statistical analysis, interpretation, presentation of data and recommendations
- Ability to interpolate and extrapolate data and generate models for understanding
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Capacity to inspire, motivate, and manage teams, delegate tasks effectively, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent business acumen and technical judgment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of and understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
Education
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, or materials science
- Lean Six Sigma or other applicable certifications desired
Work Environment
- Office, lab, field test sites, and manufacturing plant environments
- Moderate travel required
- Hybrid – primary lab located in North Wilkesboro, NC
