Job Purpose

We are looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic II to join our growing maintenance team at LP Watkins MN!

We offer great pay and benefits. .75 shift differential for 2nd shift.

This position has the potential to move into a lead position for 2nd shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance functions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and take appropriate action.
  • Lead and train employees
  • Mechanical understanding of gear boxes, sprockets and bearing assemblies
  • Pneumatic instrumentation
  • Hydraulic control systems
  • Electronic and electrical trouble shooting
  • Air compressor knowledge
  • Work order management system (EAM or similar work order management system)
  • Prioritization and ability to work alone if needed.
  • PLC a plus
  • Welding a plus
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Safety and quality driven
  • Understanding the use of LOTO (lock out tag out), Hot Work, and confined space.
  • Knowledge of PLC and welding a plus
  • Knowledge of air compressor's, hydraulic control systems, relays and motor starters, proximity switches, electric motors
  • Communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to lead.
  • Time management, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of technical training in general maintenance.

Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years’ general maintenance experience required.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

 

 

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment.
