Job Purpose

The User Experience (UX) Specialist is responsible for designing and optimizing engaging, intuitive, and effective employee experiences that delight users and support business goals. This role champions user-centered design principles, conducts thorough research, and collaborates across teams to ensure all products and services are easy to use, accessible, and enjoyable. The UX Specialist is a key advocate for the user, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Translate research findings into personas, journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that inform product design and development.
  • Design intuitive user interfaces and interaction models that enhance usability and satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute usability testing, analyze results, and iterate on designs to ensure optimal user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, UI designers, and other stakeholders to align user experience goals with business objectives.
  • Identify and resolve usability issues throughout the design process, providing actionable feedback and recommendations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design.
  • Advocate for the user in internal discussions, ensuring their needs are reflected in design and business decisions.
  • Communicate design concepts and research findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

What do I need to be successful?

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in user experience design, user research, or a similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful outcomes.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating outstanding user experiences.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.

Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule

  • Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
