Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To assist the site materials manager and the mill planner to meet site inventory requirements along with mill scheduled/planned maintenance needs.  This position will be accountable for a high level of customer service to all internal customers.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Physical and electronic receiving responsibilities of all shipments, inspecting for physical damage, comparing contents/correctness of shipments according to packing list
  • Restock responsibilities of all inventory received or returned to the storeroom on a daily basis
  • Perform inventory cycle counts, physical counts and physical counts on mill critical spares
  • Ability to make adjustments in inventory database for returned inventory and critical inventory. Primary responsibility for this activity falls on the Site Materials Manager
  • Inform receipt of materials requested to all pant requestors and mill planner that impact mill maintenance planning and scheduling activities
  • Properly fill out and maintain material releases for all repair items (gear boxes, electrical motors, etc.)
  • Track all spares that are sent out for repair
  • Assist mill maintenance personal to identify and then properly request items needed
  • Responsible for “Pulling and Kitting” of work order driven maintenance needs and then the staging needs in a designated location
  • Issuing, tracking and inventory of maintenance tools. This will be driven off of mill need and not applicable to all locations
  • Assist internal mill customers with defining new items that will need to be added in to the inventory database
  • Manage paper flow, specifically receipts of inventoried items, complete daily, send to proper processing center (AP or Office Manager) with appropriate backup documentation
  • Manage blocked Po’s do to receiving issues
  • Perform as a “back up” to the Site Materials Manger and attend meetings as required by the mill
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • General understanding and knowledge of the manufacturing process and planner process
  • Ability to be a self-starter, along with the capability to prioritize short term and long term activities
  • Ability to build and maintain strong site level relationships
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to operate a computer and supporting software. SAP, EAM and basic Microsoft Office Programs
  • Knowledge of effective materials management, storeroom operations and inventory control
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and manage multiple projects
  • Good interpersonal skills

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 months experience required.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
