Job Purpose

To provide skilled preventive and predictive maintenance at the Maintenance Mechanic II level in an industrial setting.

 

Upon accepting this position, it is our expectation that the individual(s) selected will attain the knowledge/experience level of an A-Millwright within one year.  If this expectation is not met, we will reevaluate this position.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Consistently demonstrates safety as the highest priority and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform skilled preventive and predictive maintenance functions
  • Perform moderately difficult equipment repairs and steel fabrication
  • Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on complex issues
  • Perform all duties as necessary

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Time management and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, written repair manuals and SOPs
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations and recognize safety hazards (OSHA 1910) and practice on the job safe work practices as required
  • Demonstrated excellent housekeeping practices
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, manlift and scissor lift
  • Ability to demonstrate and practice moderate welding skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and practice moderate oxy-acetylene cutting skills
  • Ability to professionally fabricate with both metal and wood on a moderately difficult level
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Self motivated and results oriented
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of work order systems (EAM or equivalent)
  • Team player who has consistently demonstrated acceptable workplace rapport with others
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft programs
  • Knowledge of hydraulics (rebuilding cylinders, making up hoses, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of machining
  • Knowledge of pollution control equipment repairs (RTOs/RCOs/ESPs, etc)
  • Ability to work at high elevations
  • High level of energy

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of technical training in general maintenance

Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years’ general maintenance experience required
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
