Job Description: 

Job Purpose

The main duties of the Janitor keeps industrial facilities clean, safe, and orderly by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing productions floors, offices, restrooms, and common areas.  Also manages trash/recycling, restocking supplies, performing minor maintenance, following safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards and preventing accidents.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Housekeeping of all mill restrooms, breakrooms, meeting rooms, general communal areas including stairways, and office spaces;  vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, restocking of off-site mill clinic facility
  • Restocking of supplies in restrooms, meeting rooms, and office spaces
  • Collecting, disposing, and managing waste and recycling
  • Maintaining custodial equipment
  • Monitor and order necessary supplies
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Be familiar with JHA, JSA, Job Process Maps and Environmental Management System for this position
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of simple equipment operation
  • Knowledge of general equipment maintenance
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning methods
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge and training of bloodborne pathogens and appropriate cleaning procedures
  • Approximate shift schedule: Monday – Friday, 7AM – 3PM

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

  • No experience required.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
