Job Description: 

Job Purpose

Safely and effectively run an electrical shop. Schedule and perform preventative and predictive electrical maintenance.  Serve as lead electrician, assigning and following up on daily work to the electrical maintenance team.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Consistently demonstrate safety as the highest priority and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications
  • Serve as lead electrician; assign daily work to electrical maintenance team
  • Make process control changes
  • Read wiring and circuit diagrams
  • Identify sources of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems
  • Responsible for keeping MCC & Switchgear Assemblies/Rooms in good working order
  • Working knowledge of Motor Starters and VFD’s, and the ability to demonstrate it
  • Understanding of Rockwell, Schneider, and Siemens PLC development software
  • Troubleshoot new and existing equipment / modify code to support various needs
  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, OEMs to keep our equipment running
  • Responsible for keeping inventory of electrical equipment, existing and new equipment
  • Utilize SAP, ARIBA, and EAM to order spare parts, or new equipment
  • Utilize EAM to keep track of jobs and tasks throughout the facility
  • Be familiar with JHA, JSA, Job Process Maps, and EMS for this position
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all environmental policies and procedures including the following: spill response, general waste disposal and hazardous material handling procedures

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • PLC training completed
  • 10+ years of electrical experience
  • Demonstrate supervisory training
  • Deep knowledge of Electrical Systems and how to maintain/troubleshoot them from 5VDC to 25,000VAC.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA70 & 70E, and the ability to demonstrate it. (NEC)
  • Working knowledge of Electrical test equipment and the ability to demonstrate it. (DMM, megohmmeter)
  • Must have or attain Minnesota Master Electrical License, and the ability to be the Master on Record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, and the ability to demonstrate it

Education:

  • Vocational degree required

Experience:

  • 10 + years’ electrical experience
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

  • Mill environment
