Job Purpose
Support plant EHS management to ensure compliance with established safety and environmental policies and procedures. Perform tasks to implement policies and procedures.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Communicate EHS policies and procedures to plant, providing advice and guidance to employees on the interpretation and implementation as needed
- Perform EHS inspections and surveys to ensure compliance with LP’s policies, procedures, regulations and standards
- Participate in employee training and emergency preparedness programs
- Reserch and write summary reports on existing and emerging EHS rules and regulations; assist managers in revising or developing policies where appropriate
- Monitor, report, and develop tools needed to support current EHS programs
- Participate or support management-level EHS audits and audit training
- Participate in the preparation of reports for government agencies and external stakeholders; maintain appropriate EHS records
- Review EHS documents and reports for accuracy prior to submittal to governing agencies
- Assist supervisors and managers to resolve EHS issues. Refer complex problems to more experienced staff as necessary
- Participate in the maintenance of the Environmental Management System
- Responsible for EHS monitoring, documenting, reporting , and recordkeeping
- Participate in cross-functional teams on special projects as assigned
- Interact with environmental regulators as needed
- Work with senior staff to review and analyze the effectiveness of current EHS programs
- Report non-compliance or hazardous conditions and suggest remedies
- Manufacturing environment
What do I need to be successful?
- General work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous exposure to plant EHS policies, procedures and administration preferred
- Entry level EHS professional position with 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in supporting projects and policy implementation preferably within an EHS department
- Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform responsibilities of this position
- Knowledge of federal, state and local industrial health, safety, and environmental regulations, and related strategies
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to learn new policies and procedures and to communicate and encourage support from plant employees
- Ability to coordinate activities affecting diverse groups of employees
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificates or licenses in specialized environmental and safety areas helpful
