Job Description: 

Job Purpose

Move and/or store wood stock prior to engineered wood processing using heavy machinery. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Unload log truck in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain a steady flow of wood into the log ponds.
  • Load bark into assigned trucks.
  • Assist in log yard clean up.
  • Remove debris from log ponds and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Repair and maintain machinery as needed.
  • Record detailed maintenance work requests, safety work requests, and daily downtime in the EAM program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications:

Education (including licenses and certifications):

Minimum Required:

  • GED or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum Required:

  • Three (3) years of large equipment operating experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understand and obey all safety policies, standards, and regulations at company, state, and federal levels.
  • Recognize and comply with all environmental policies and procedures including spill response, general waste, and wood waste procedures.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate all general machines (log handle equipment, front end loader, grader, skid-steer, and dump truck).
  • Advance knowledge of general machine maintenance.
  • Ability to utilize EAM software.
