Job Purpose

Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair machinery as necessary for it to be in optimal working condition.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform complex equipment repairs and carpentry tasks
• Assemble equipment using schematics, blueprints, and written repair manuals
• Operate and inspect mill machinery to ensure it is working properly
• Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Communicate with lead millwright, operators, and supervisors to identify issues
• Transfer materials using various mobile equipment
• Assure there is an adequate number of spare parts
• Participate in elective cross training
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Record detailed maintenance work requests, and safety work requests in the EAM program
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understand and obey all safety policies, standards, and regulations at company, state, and federal levels
• Recognize and comply with all environmental policies and procedures including spill response, general waste, and wood waste procedures
• Expert knowledge of preventative maintenance functions
• Expert knowledge of maintenance equipment, tools, and procedures
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritizing skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and written repair manuals
• Ability to utilize EAM software
• Moderate knowledge of JHA, JSA, Job Processes Maps, and Environmental Management System for this position

Education:

Minimum Required:

• HS Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Crane / Forklift / Manlift certification
• Two (2) years of post-secondary education in welding

Experience:

Minimum Required:

• One (1) year of experience in machine maintenance work
• Two (2) years of carpentry experience

Work Environment

• Mill and shop environment
