Job Description:
Job Purpose
Create wood strands by processing logs through debarker and strander
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate equipment controls to regulate the speed of logs, cut logs, and transfer flakes
- Coordinate processes with fellow operators
- Change knives as necessary
- Identify operational issues as well as control panel issues
- Blow down the strander
- Remove log jams and bark from belts
- Monitor the flow of flakes entering the green bins
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned/necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of multiple complex equipment operation.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
- Time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Demonstrated ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in equipment operation.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
