Job Purpose

To operate, adjust and monitor mixer area to ensure quality product is produced

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Responsible for mix area, including the area around the dry ingredient hoppers.
  • Monitor and ensure proper flow through spray systems.
  • Monitor liquids throughout the day for consistent delivery.
  • Check viscosity of slurry in the batches. 
  • Monitor touch screen for alarms, particularly low powders.
  • Monitor latex, defoamer and ZnCl levels and change tote as required. 
  • Unload chemicals. Check COA before unloading chemicals.
  • Transfer mix from tank to holding tanks/totes. 
  • Keep stainless steel strainer and wye filter screens clean. 
  • Clean mix hopper daily. 
  • Responsible for the system clean up, spray down process during the day and end of day clean up. 
  • Assist on fiberglass changes. 
  • Keep areas under dry ingredient hoppers clean; sift material into empty super sacks daily. 
  • Keep wet process area floor freee of slurry, host into trench as needed. 
  • Uses radio to maintain communication with operators, maintenance, and supervisor
  • Logs downtime and notes causes
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of multiple complex equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  • Time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in equipment operation.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
