Job Description: 

Job Purpose

Operates, adjusts, and monitors mixer area to ensure quality board is produced.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Responsible for mixer area, including the area around the dry ingredient hoppers
  2. Operates multiple pieces of equipment
  3. Launches and calibrates equipment
  4. Monitors activity through control panels & initiates appropriate process changes
  5. May be required to backfill as lead
  6. Monitors and ensures proper flow through spray systems
  7. Monitors liquids throughout the day for consistent delivery
  8. Checks the viscosity of slurry in the batches
  9. Monitors touch screen for alarms, particularly low powders
  10. Monitors latex, defoamer and ZnCl levels and change tote as required
  11. Unloads chemicals. Checks COA before unloading chemicals
  12. Transfers mix from tank to holding tanks/totes
  13. Keeps stainless steel strainer and wye filter screens clean
  14. Cleans mixer hopper daily
  15. Responsible for the system clean up, spray down process during the day and end of day clean up
  16. Assists on fiberglass changes
  17. Keeps areas under dry ingredient hoppers clean; sifts material into empty super sacks daily
  18. Keeps wet process area floor free of slurry; hoses into trench as needed
  19. Uses radio to maintain communication with operators, maintenance, and supervisor
  20. Logs downtime and notes causes
  21. Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  22. Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of multiple complex equipment operation.
  2. Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  3. Time management and multi-tasking skills.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  6. Demonstrated ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment.
  7. Possess ability to work in extreme temperaturess

Education:

  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  1. 3 – 5 years’ experience in equipment operation.
  2. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
