Job Description:
Job Purpose
To ensure that operation and maintenance of pollution control equipment meets environmental standards and production requirements
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Aids in repairs to WESP pump, cleans tubes and nozzles
- Aids in maintaining RTO in good working order-bake outs, valve cleaning and bearing replacement
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining WESP equipment and building
- Manages the washout of the RTOs
- Replaces bags, performs leak checks, maintains magnehelic gauge
- Performs visual emissions readings using EPA Method 9 standards during bakeouts or upset conditions and records results
- Aid in maintaining and auditing the opacity monitors
- Applies caustic to maintain a neutral PH in WESP system and monitors daily
- Collect test samples according to sampling SOPs
- Participate in any environmental improvement projects at the mill
- Participate as needed when emission testing is conducted at the mill
- Participate as needed in environmental training at the mill
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned/necessary
What do I need to be successful?
- Ability to obtain a Visual Emissions Evaluator certification
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to use carbon monoxide monitor, pH meter, and pressure differential meters
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of plant operations and emission control systems
- Effective communication and organization skills
- Detail oriented
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in equipment operation.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
