In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Ensure safety of all employees and contractors working in operating unit or department by driving continuous improvement towards a true safety culture. This includes supporting all corporate safety programs; developing SOP’s, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules.
- Ensure environmental compliance within operating unit or department by supporting all corporate environmental programs and initiatives and ensuring all employees follow environmental policies and procedures.
- Follow and support manufacturing components of the site business plan with guidance, lead and/or participate in deployment, communication, and implementation of goals and objectives related to area of responsibility.
- Supervise production employees, including training, performance management, preparation and communication of work schedules, and daily work assignments.
- Develop staff and self to ensure personal and professional growth. Maintain current knowledge of appropriate supervisory tools by participating in available training.
- Prepare reports and maintain records and documentation according to guidelines
- May participate in cross-functional teams, such as production meetings, safety committee and site business teams.
- Report promptly to appropriate managers/departments when upset conditions occur within department. Take appropriate mitigating actions to ensure employee safety, plant and environmental protection, product quality, and shipping schedules. Investigate causes of upset conditions to prevent re-occurrence.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations, including maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What do I need to be successful?
- 2+ years in Production/Manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated lead/supervisory experience
- Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and improvement process.
- Familiarity with correct application of systems and processes that ensures continuous improvement (safety, maintenance, quality and manufacturing).
- Understanding of safety and environmental requirements
- Leadership skills; ability to lead meetings and teams
- Basic budgeting and financial management skills
- Ability to operate computer and supporting software
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
