Sr. Manager, Market Access
As the Sr. Manager, Market Access, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive national market access and government relations strategy. This role is accountable for building and leading a high-performing National Market Access Team focused on advancing LP Building Solutions’ policy priorities and strengthening its presence across state and local governments.
You will serve as a strategic advisor and key representative for the Company, advocating with contract lobbyists, trade associations, coalitions, elected officials, regulatory agencies, and other influential stakeholders to shape policy outcomes that enable business growth.
This role reports to the Director of Field Technical and operates with significant autonomy, influence, and cross-functional leadership impact.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Advisory & Government Relations
- Build, lead, and scale a National Market Access function, establishing priorities, governance, and operating rhythms aligned with enterprise strategy.
- Provide leadership and direction to internal teams, contract lobbyists, and external partners to drive measurable policy outcomes.
- Design and lead lobbying strategies and advocacy initiatives at the state and local levels, including legislative engagement, coalition-building, and public affairs campaigns.
- Serve as the senior leader of LP Building Solutions with policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders, building long-term, influential relationships.
- Oversee the development of integrated advocacy campaigns, including messaging, communications, and grassroots strategies.
Policy Strategy & Business Alignment
- Provide expert analysis and strategic guidance on public policy issues impacting the business, including building codes, sustainability, environmental regulations, workforce development, transportation, health & safety, and supply chain.
- Partner cross-functionally with business leaders to align policy priorities with commercial objectives, ensuring proactive risk mitigation and opportunity identification.
- Translate legislative and regulatory developments into clear business insights and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Strengthen LP’s influence through active participation and leadership in trade associations, coalitions, and industry forums.
- Position the Company as a thought leader by shaping policy dialogue and contributing to industry perspectives.
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key external stakeholders.
Monitoring & Execution
- Establish processes to monitor, track, and respond to legislation and regulatory activity across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely communication of policy developments and their business impact to senior stakeholders.
- Drive accountability for results across internal teams and external partners.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in government relations, public affairs, or lobbying, with a preferred combination of:
- Government or legislative experience (e.g., state legislature, governor’s office, municipal leadership, or regulatory agency), and/or
- Experience in the building materials, construction, or related industrial sector.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful lobbying and advocacy strategies across multiple states or regions.
- Deep expertise in state and local legislative and regulatory processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence without authority, and manage external partners (lobbyists, associations, consultants).
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect public policy to commercial outcomes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at executive and policymaker levels.
- Highly strategic thinker with the ability to operate both hands-on and at a leadership level.
- Willingness to travel up to 60%.
