Job Purpose
Provide technical engineering support for major capital projects/programs which are directly associated with a Business Line’s strategic initiative. Support cross-functional project teams through activities associated with project development, engineering, procurement, contracting, installation, start-up and commissioning within the framework of approved scope, schedule and budget. Supervise engineering staff where applicable.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead high-impact cost reduction/optimization/improvement efforts for the business based on current Best Practices.
- Assist in the development, execution and communication of initiatives and strategic plans; assist in developing a process to implement plans.
- Represent the business during Supply Management resin, wax, and edgeseal pricing negotiations.
- Monitor and coordinate technological development; consult with R&D, Q&T, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to provide manufacturing expertise.
- Assist in evaluation and interact with Marketing and R&D on new product development initiatives.
- Support the Regional Manufacturing Operations Managers and Mill Managers to achieve regional and mill objectives.
- Communicate the business vision, goals, and objectives (safety, environmental, quality, operations, etc) to the manufacturing sites.
- Lead/train the manufacturing sites in the use of effective project management techniques (project frame, DOE, justification, data analysis, and communication).
- Interact with Engineering on development of new capacity and equipment selection and integration.
- Support initiatives to drive performance improvements in all areas including capital deployment; monitor industry developments and Best Practices.
- Share and leverage critical data and information across the businesses, including collection and dissemination of competitive analysis data.
- Provide project support to manufacturing facilities to enable them to meet Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Cost objectives.
- Support cross-functional teams in developing operational budgets.
- Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

Experience:
- 7 years related manufacturing operations experience.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Education
- BS degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or other quantitative discipline or Business. Advanced degree preferred.
Work Environment
- Both an office and manufacturing environment.
- Significant travel in US and Canada required (up to 65%).
