Job Description: 

Job Purpose

Assist the Environmental Manager in ensuring the Sagola Plant operates in accordance with LP Environmental policies and programs and all applicable government regulations.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work closely with the Environmental Manager in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

    Participate in implementation, administration, and maintenance of the Plant Environmental Management System

    Assist in the management of daily environmental system monitoring data.

    Collect necessary samples (e.g., RCO catalyst, drinking water, ash, bark, used oil, etc.) for laboratory testing.

    Ability to interpret process information.

    Lead technical support for environmental monitoring equipment (i.e., TOH Opacity and O2 Meters)          

    Assist in environmental inspections (i.e., storm water, SPCC, area hazard, safety specific, etc.)

    Utilize computer management system for tracking Environmental tasks.

    Perform other duties as necessary safely.

    Provide stack testing support for various controls (RTO, RCO etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to understand plant applicable Environmental regulations.

Effective leadership, interpersonal, organizational skills

Effective written and verbal and computer communication skills

Strong ethics and professionalism

Ability to analyze and interpret data.

Ability to work independently and as a team member.

 

Education

Associate degree in environmental or science focused degree

Two years’ manufacturing experience with a concentration on Environmental related functions preferred

 

Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment

Considerable office type work in a plant environmental

Ability to climb ladders up to heights of 60 feet or greater.

Ability to work on roofs and stack platforms.

 Other duties or responsibilities not listed above may be assigned as necessary.
