Crane Operator

Job Purpose

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates hand/foot controls on crane to unload logs from trucks and load log deck and debarker drums.
• Separates logs by species; stacks by age and type keeping pile balanced and level per Log Yard Management procedures.
• Rotates crane pad inventory according to policy and procedures.
• Properly communicate with Scale House, truck drivers and Green End Personnel.
• Inspects and performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Maintains required documentation and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
• Responsible for training other operators in safe, proper crane operations and processes.
• Expected to maintain 100% compliance with all Environmental standards and policies for area.
• Complete control plans and operational check sheets monitoring production process
• Perform other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.

What do I need to be successful?

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate crane; prior crane operating experience preferred
• Excellent manual dexterity, visual acuity and depth perception, good eye/hand coordination
• Ability to maintain required documentation
• Ability to read, understand and follow safety rules and regulations

Essential Functions:

• Ability to sit for long periods of time, climb, bend, stoop, squat, lift to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate equipment identified in Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Good hand/eye coordination

Work Environment:

• OSB mill environment subject to weather extremes
