Job Purpose

To learn and maintain an area and to assist higher level millwrights in plant relation repairs as an entry level millwright.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Wear radio and respond to mill breakdowns timely and efficiently, working closely with operators to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Maintain EAM(maintenance/parts program) ensuring it is current at the end of each shift.
  • Training to take ownership of assigned area including knowing the downtime, quality and safety issues in your Area and working with the team to resolve.
  • Daily interaction with area operators to know and take action to address issues.
  • Communicate maintenance issues to operators, leadership, and peers in an effective and timely manner.
  • Work with Parts Planner to coordinate down day & daily work schedules.
  • Investigate and help to find root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long-term fix.
  • Complete assigned work orders or other PM’s as assigned.
  • Support the crew to maintain activities for meetings, training, and on-shift vacation coverage.
  • Communicate to operators and leadership to know about changes made while on shift.
  • Learn and maintain all lubrication systems throughout the mill
  • Maintain oil storage area with millwright team
  • Monitor oil supplies, transport and arrange disposal as needed
  • Assist higher level millwrights in plant related repairs
  • To learn and train on maintenance functions
  • Perform other duties as necessary
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety and environmental rules and regulations

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good understanding of the use and purpose of lubrication.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance functions.
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand safety and environmental rules and regulations.



Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years’ general maintenance experience required.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing Plant Environment - dusty at times with moving machinery, 24 hour operations with hot and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to wear a respirator in required areas.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights, work in tight or confined spaces.
