JOB PURPOSE

 

The Director, Channel must leverage the company’s enterprise resources to create and deliver a strategy growing share.  This role will a team of national accounts managers overseeing LP’s siding & structural solutions business at strategic pro-dealer and one-step accounts. This person will interact with senior level leadership with strategic customers and across LP while developing & executing a strategy to drive double digit growth on business of $600 M + annual sales. This person must be a dynamic leader who can pivot to serve as the central point of contact for the customer’s stakeholders and executives and know how to use value-based solutions to meet both the customer’s and the company’s requirements and expectations, as well as create future potential value.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Building an Effective Team

  • Are a dynamic leader who can pivot and work across multiple stakeholders, levels, and functions to drive progress and manage through conflict.
  • Create and connect new business opportunities, within the context of the LP sales strategy, by aligning sales and marketing resources to achieve greater product availability in the market.
  • Be accountable for customer-specific development efforts, metrics reporting and execution of marketing campaigns; engage business resources and serve as informal leader on the national accounts team.  
  • Manage multiple individuals while developing individual talent to maximize performance & career planning.
  • Build and grow strong trust-based relationships with customer stakeholders, supporters, and sponsors.

 

 

Strategic Focus & Leveraging Insights to Action

  • Provide insight to LP on marketplace conditions, potential products, solutions, and financial mechanisms needed to secure new business.
  • Design and analyze strategies that leverages available and emerging market data resources while evaluating demographics, pricing, distribution channels, and marketing outlets.
  • Drive decisions and action generating a high value & competitive edge.
  • Elevate above transactional deals by deeply understanding potential lines of business so LP can enter these critical growth markets and effectively deliver value, ROI, and share.  
  • Develop new lines of business within LP’s go to market strategy specific with strategic lumberyards and builders.

 

Effective Execution

  • Consistently deliver results by executing strategic account plans, while proactively developing & implementing contingency plans when necessary.
  • Demonstrate the resolve to do the difficult things required to maintain the integrity of the account plan and keep the cross-functional team harmonized and on track.
  • Establish realistic priorities for customer projects and effectively manage deadlines, ensuring that important details aren’t missed due to conflicting priorities.
  • Respond quickly to conflicts regarding customer compliant and on-label value co-creation, alignment, relationships, and growth and ensure that they are promptly resolved.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Ability to interpret business strategies used by potential customers to develop compelling value propositions that generate win-win outcomes and value beyond price.
  • Able to see and comprehend the big picture, possessing a broad awareness of the businesses and the industry.
  • Executive level presentation skills
  • Above average analytical, quantitative, and financial skills with the ability to effectively interpret and present findings.
  • Adaptive learner and achiever; comfortable with ambiguity and able to render decisions based on imperfect information.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and measuring innovative sales business plans and marketing strategies

 

EDUCATION

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing. MBA preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • 10 years of related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Building Materials Experience is a plus
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Prior team and people management experience.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work requires approximately 50-60% travel. 
  • Remote-based office environment.  Expected to be in LP’s headquarters frequently. May vary by week.
