Job Purpose

As a member of our Growth and Innovation Team, you’ll be asked to use strong analytical skills to drive deep insights to a wide range of current and future business projects. You insights and findings from analysis will help shape the marketing and business development of new products that support corporate growth and innovation goals based on LP’s growth strategy and value based agenda. You’ll be responsible for idea generation, in-depth market analysis, product positioning, and marketing planning.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead multiple New Product Development project(s) in the corporate growth and innovation agenda.  Work is highly independent and requires engaged, self-motived individual.
  • Execute on key commercial deliverables including idea generation, in-depth market analysis, business case, product positioning, and marketing planning.
  • Use traditional and advanced research analysis methods to support business, segment and product strategies related growth and innovation projects
  • Be excellent at communication as you’ll assume team lead role for cross-functional partners to drive accountability.
  • Use quantitative & qualitative surveys/ interviews to gain deep market related insights by engaging developers, channel partners, specifiers, manufacturing operators, etc.
  • Synthesize analytical results into deliverables that communicate key insights and implications to be presented to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop relationship and maintain productive dialogue with external partners including ad agencies, market research agencies, and marketing consultants
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure expectations are clearly articulated and deliverables met for key milestones.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Knowledge of building materials and building industry preferred
  • Proven skills and experience in the marketing and business development activities during the new product development process
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with ad agencies, market research companies, and marketing consultants.
  • Knowledge of current statistical analysis tools, metrics and software related to sales, marketing, and finance
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively to senior management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing
  • MBA in Marketing
  • 7-10 years of related experience
  • Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
