Job Purpose

Performs technical and operational duties necessary to process Human Resources and Payroll data. Assists customers, internal and external, with payroll questions and issues. Research topics and assist with process improvement projects related to payroll processes in UKG Pro and UKG Dimensions as well as other external vendors as needed.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide accurate and timely data entry into the HR/Payroll system to include hires, job changes, promotions, terminations and other data associated with Human Resources and Payroll while maintaining production standards
  • Trace and correct errors to ensure accurate processing
  • Processes all personnel and employment data changes
  • Ensure accurate wage and deduction calculations during the payroll production process
  • Calculate and prepare manual payments, reversals, and wage adjustments for employees, including final payment and accounting adjustments
  • Answer and process wage order notifications and deductions. Remit to applicable agencies per standards
  • May prepare and facilitate payroll tax filings, returns and funds transfers
  • Research and evaluate complex documents, forms, and other written or verbal information; provide timely response to requests and concerns expressed by internal and external customers
  • Maintain documentation files and procedure manuals
  • Maintain specialized payroll tax and accounting procedures per standards and modify in response to regulatory changes
  • Partner with Human Resources Department and other areas regarding Human Resources and Payroll issues
  • Generate reports for research and/or distribution
  • May conduct audits to ensure that HR and Payroll is processed in accordance with applicable approvals, policies, procedures, practices, reporting requirements, regulations, and laws
  • May ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations and develop and monitor quality control reports.
  • May review the completion and accuracy of HR/Payroll Operations department data entry, including Personnel Action Forms, various reports, and other documents or transactions per established department guidelines, procedures, processes, and HR Policies

What do I need to be successful?

  • 3+ years of experience with Payroll processing or equivalent experience working in a Human Resources, Finance, or Payroll environment.
  • UKG Pro payroll and UKG Dimensions timekeeping software experience preferred.
  • Proficient with general Payroll processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state payroll requirements, labor regulations, and wage & hour tax laws
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Accounting, and Payroll operations processes and systems
  • General knowledge of timekeeping and payroll system configurations in a manufacturing environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • US payroll designation as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) through the American Payroll Association or Canadian payroll designation as Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) preferred.

Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
  • Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
