Job Purpose

Reporting to the Global Business Services (GBS) Senior Payroll Manager, the Payroll Systems Analyst role will be responsible for preparing, documenting, and disbursing various payroll taxes, employee garnishments, and Canadian provincial health care and workers comp payments. Prepares reports illustrating payroll activity for business managers, including such items as wages, overtime, tax payments, and benefit plan disbursements. The Payroll Systems Analyst will oversee designing details for automated processes to increase payroll related efficiencies by designed the process, troubleshooting technical malfunctions, administering risk research, and working with stakeholders to deliver solutions that are viable and consistent. Responds to payroll-related inquiries from senior management, other departments, and individuals at all levels of the organization. In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure accuracy of US and Canadian employee and employer taxes

  • Process Canadian provincial health care and workers comp payments

  • Collaborate with UKG managed services to ensure wage garnishments are processed timely.

  • Research and propose automated solutions to improve overall operations for all payroll functions and process efficiencies

  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective

  • Consult with users to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, improvements, and implementations to meet site business requirements

  • Assist as needed with the timely processing of payroll activities to include timecard and payroll processing, payroll tax payments and filings, annual Form W2’s, and all levels of record maintenance. 

  • Assist in obtaining documentation for GL balance sheet account reconciliations as needed

  • Serve as a resource to customers (internal and external) for technical and operational payroll procedures and policies.

  • Collaborate with Payroll Manager to develop, implement and maintain procedures and increase performance standards.

  • Work effectively within Human Resources on payroll issues, procedures and policies.

  • Research and respond to complex inquiries from department managers or supervisors. 

  • Provide training to personnel as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure quality and timeliness of operational activities.

  • Perform all other duties as necessary.

What do I need to be successful?

  • A minimum 5 years payroll experience is required

  • In-depth knowledge of Kronos Dimensions and UKG Payroll systems, preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state provincial payroll requirements, labor regulations, and wage & hour tax laws in the US and Canada

  • Thorough knowledge of compensation, benefits, and tax issues as they relate to payroll

  • Experience in a global, corporate, payroll function preferred


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent experience required

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred

  • Or equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.


Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule

  • Must be within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area

  • Occasional travel, which may include international
