Job Purpose


Your mission is to lead and implement the strategic direction for LP’s growing sourcing spend across an array of categories. LP is in the midst of a Supply Chain transformation as we journey to become a world-class organization.  This role must drive a reduction in the total cost of ownership to LP manufacturing facilities over the long run and to measure the value of implemented programs. As the leader of the strategic sourcing team, you will set the tone for our engagement with external suppliers, internal business customers, and industry peers.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide the leadership and category strategy to enable LP to grow with efficiency and agility (MRO, SG&A)
  • Create and execute strategic cross-functional sourcing projects
  • Deploy LP buying power at a site, regional, and/or corporate level
  • Own contract negotiations and supplier management including evaluation and strategic supplier development
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to establish, track, and eclipse savings targets and KPIs
  • Monitor market, vendor, and industry trends to inform procurement strategies
  • Anticipate business needs and orchestrate team resources to provide tactical support
  • Travel to manufacturing locations in North America



  • Ability to build strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proven track record of high performance and consistently delivering superior results
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Understanding of ERP systems (SAP Ariba knowledge preferred)
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Understanding of pricing structure, cost modeling and price change management options
