Job Description: 

Job Purpose

Act as a leader to drive cost and service management while facilitating process innovation. This role will function as a manager, collaborating across assigned businesses, modes, and processes to support departmental objectives. Contribute to the evolution of LP’s logistics planning and modeling capabilities by utilizing and administering advanced tools and technologies. This support will encompass activities related to gathering requirements, designing, building, testing, and delivering new tools and functionalities. The role will engage with all LP applications and platforms as needed. The technology scope includes tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, LLamasoft, as well as SAP APO, IBP, BTP, and BI/Reporting, along with other best-in-class bolt-on applications such as TMS.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

Analyst/Problem Solver

 

  • Lead Logistics RFP activities, negotiate and analyze rates and services with carriers and vendors.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the LP logistics planning and order fulfillment processes, data elements and information flows.
  • Support Supply Chain Strategy and alignment, ensure proper PID proliferation
  • Lead Cost Savings initiatives to support market share growth
  • Develop Logistics and Supply Chain Tools to support Corporate Strategy Decision Making
  • Increase Customer Service Levels by providing tools and solutions for to increase Customer Satisfaction
  • Lead Hoshin Building and Tracking
  • Lead 5yr plan and Logistics Value Creation Journey
  • Support the translation of LP strategic goals and objectives into actionable workstreams and initiatives for the department.
  • Collaborate with the IT Analytics / BI Teams to drive our level of maturity in data management and process visibility.
  • Define ideas and innovation opportunities based on the knowledge gained and assessments conducted.
  • Lead and participate in projects or teams related to improving efficiency, cost reduction, and support of business strategy.
  • Manage rate database and systems integration; coordinate with sales on rate change strategies and implementations.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report corporate logistics metrics and recommend solutions.
  • Schedule the transportation of products and materials, as needed.
  • Manage supplier relationships and location management actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with business groups to recommend strategic and tactical changes as well as the implementation of new processes

 

 Critical Thinker/Process Improver

 

  • Identify possible future capacity constraints and develop alternatives.
  • Understanding of supply chain best practices, market trends, and relevant regulations. 
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies. 
  • Anticipate potential issues by utilizing leading indicators to project future logistics needs.
  • Review and streamline entire logistics process from order to delivery.
  • Review and analyze line capacity to determine whether alternative sourcing is required.
  • Analyze TMS and Rail data to determine how to decrease cost and lead time, reduce waste or optimize customer service.
  • Teach and Coach Lean Six Sigma certified problem-solving activities.

What do I need to be successful?

  • 5+ years of business, supply chain, or planning related experience
  • 5+ years of supply chain data analytics  
  •  Extensive experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record of success, is essential. 
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and process mapping skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders. 
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team building skills
  • Base knowledge of supply chain management concepts with a focus on Logistics processes
  • Ability to learn new skills/technology
  • Ability to lead and impact change with new processes/tools
  • Ability to work alone and in teams as appropriate
  • Past work experience in a SAP environment
  • Problem Solving skillset
  • Strong mathematical and statistical analysis skills.
  • Very strong Excel, database and data management skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer and supporting software programs.
  • Past experience with transportation and warehouse management tools
  • Database design and administration
  • Thorough knowledge of primary modules of LLamasoft like network design, Cost to Serve, Causal forecasting..
  • Good understanding of supply chain management processes and concepts.
  • Knowledge of SAP cloud-based planning and integration tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations Management or similar

Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
  • Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
  • Occasional travel
