Job Purpose

As a Capital Procurement Leader working on the Capital and Operations Procurement team, you will be empowered to provide expertise and champion strategic sourcing activities for capital related goods and services. In this role, you will contribute to LP’s mission by developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies to drive maximum value in our Capital and Operations procurement.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Providing support to the LP Business departments
  • Developing and managing global, regional and local strategies for the Capital category.
  • Building strong relationships with the Engineering and Project Management teams to deliver and execute against capital sourcing strategies.
  • Driving opportunities across sites/businesses to consolidate spend and sustain benefits
  • Facilitating commercial discussions and negotiations with suppliers and internal partners.
  • Achieving significant savings and year over year cost reductions, while maintaining and improving equipment and services quality.
  • Accurate preparation and contract formation, administration and management.
  • Monitoring and managing contract compliance and deliverables.
  • Leading contract and supplier performance reviews   
  • Establishing effective relationships with internal partners (e.g., operations, legal, finance, IT and HR) and collaborate cross functionally to align procurement and capital strategy with business objectives.
  • Building and maintaining supplier relationships to deliver high performance at optimal cost while mitigating operational risk
  • Provide support as technical procurement resource, with knowledge of the strategic sourcing process
  • Lead sourcing events (RFQs, RFPs), supplier negotiation strategy, manage stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the end-to-end sourcing process
  • Manage bid proposals (RFQ/RFP), requirements documentation (SOW), purchase/service agreements/contracts and exhibits and other related documents.
  • Provide strong attention to detail in composing and proofing documents, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.

What do I need to be successful?

  • 5-7 years’ capital project procurement/supply management experience.
  • Strong negotiation, mathematical and analytical skills
  • Self-starter, highly organized with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, bias to action and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Service Now, Ariba, and SAP desirable.

 

Work Environment

  • Hybrid Remote/Office Environment.
  • Moderate travel required

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required
