Job Purpose

 

The Corporate Reliability Engineer is a member of the Corporate Reliability Team, supporting over 26 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States, Canada, and South America.  This role is responsible for developing and leading reliability strategies that will improve OEE, extend asset life, and reduce failures at all LP manufacturing facilities.   Effective collaboration with site and corporate resources such as site Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Managers, Operations Managers, and Project Engineers will be key to a sustainable implementation of reliability initiatives.   Develop a high-performance organization by mentoring, coaching, and training best-in-class maintenance and reliability practices.   Drive continuous improvement in asset management through complex root cause failure analysis, criticality analysis, and failure modes effects analysis.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Improve OEE by reducing unplanned downtime events utilizing historical equipment data.
  • Develop asset management strategies through preventative maintenance optimization and early failure detection using condition-based monitoring.
  • Develop standards and specifications for key mechanical and electrical assets.
  • Drive best-in-class maintenance programs at all sites.
  • Develop KPIs, metrics and scorecards which support best in class reliability.
  • Track and report asset life, OEE, TEEP, and asset utilization for all sites and business units in collaboration with site resources.
  • Responsible for the corporate root cause failure analysis program and ensuring effective corrective actions are identified and successfully implemented.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving work order planning and scheduling processes.
  • Collaborate with site resources and LP’s INFOR EAM IT Team, ensuring the full utilization of our work order asset management system.  Work to standardize equipment hierarchies, spare parts, reporting, work order planning, and scheduling.
  • Identify potential cost reductions through extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other asset management strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Capital Project Engineering assuring design for reliability methods are applied.
  • Participates in the review phase of design of capital additions and changes in plant layout to ensure full maintainability of equipment, utilities, and facilities.
  • Support LP’s safety processes, utilize RCFA and FMEA tools assisting sites with safety incident solutions, and support code and risk management requirements interconnected with reliability.

 

Qualifications

 

  • In-depth practical knowledge of manufacturing process
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance and reliability systems, tools, and processes.
  • Experienced utilizing root cause failure analysis tools and conducting failure modes effects analysis.
  • Experienced performing asset criticality analysis.
  • Advanced user of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ability to develop training material and present reliability concepts to a diversified audience.
  • Ability to write technical standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of best-in-class maintenance and reliability KPI’s and Metrics
  • Knowledge of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma concepts.

 

Education:

 

  • Engineering degree in reliability, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or chemical preferred.
  • Reliability Training and Certification such as CRE, CMRP, or CRL highly desired.

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing & implementing reliability programs for manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience implementing programs across multiple sites or corporate wide programs highly desired.

Work Environment

 

  • Office Environment at Nashville Corporate Headquarters.  Home office may be considered.
  • Plant environment when working with our manufacturing sites.
  • Travel up to 50%
