Job Purpose

The CoE Solution Architect will be a member of the LP Center of Excellence (CoE).  This individual will interface heavily with CoE Business Analysts, technical teams and internal customers across businesses and functional groups.  The CoE Solution Architect will work closely with our businesses and functional groups to properly diagnose and resolve identified issues within SAP Modules and connected Edge Applications and assist the business leadership teams in implementing strategic improvements to CoE technology solutions.  The CoE Solution Architect will also apply project management expertise to identify and develop process improvements, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies.  The CoE Solution Architect is expected to provide counsel and leadership to the overall CoE teams to help maximize efficiency while protecting the integrity of the overall solution.  This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the CoE strategic roadmap of enterprise applications such as SAP and other key business applications supported by the CoE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as internal consultant and design architect for SAP solutions that cross process streams or CoE teams, including edge applications integrated with SAP. Partner with peers in the IT organization and fellow Functional Architects and Business Analysts to align business processes with solution design, leveraging the capabilities of SAP and other integrated applications.
  • Responsible for engaging throughout the full systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation of various functional architecture solutions.
  • Translate overall business process requirements to SAP configuration.
  • Advise on the management of configuration, governance and testing across the SAP environment.
  • Support the identification of enhancement opportunities to standardize/improve processes and system configuration that supports the customer-focused approach, but ensures compliance to the business management goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Functional Architect and Business Analysts to ensure end to end process integration and consistency.
  • Develop, prototype, test and implement solution improvements to increase stability, usability and functionality to enable end users to meet business objectives.
  • Lead and support project initiatives to expand the usage of the SAP solution to improve and expand processes across the enterprise.
  • Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP. Assist in the management of those systems as part of an overall solution portfolio.
  • Provides functional support and leadership to SAP User Community including: interaction with Third-Party Support Providers, definition of SOPs, gathering business requirements, documenting functional designs and specifications, and evaluating/directing enhancements.
  • Identifies training needs and supports CoE Training Manager in the development & delivery of training content.
  • Researches  and analyzes basic and complex issues surrounding LP's business processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with MDM team to provide solution achitecture input on strategy and initiatives to support management reporting requirements.
  • Mentor business and functional team members to increase their competency in SAP.
  • Perform all duties according to company policies and safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Current SAP configuration experience & certification in specific modules (FICO, SD/MM, PP)
  • Manufacturing Industry experience a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager
  • Experience with ECC to S/4 migration planning and/or implementation is a plus
  • Knowledge of Tax Engine integrations a plus
  • Knowledge of IBP/APO a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) a plus
  • Experience using SAP implementation methods
  • Business process analysis and redesign experience: strong business analysis skills; process maping; business process redesign and implementation
  • Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, and support
  • Effectively promote process best practices
  • Execellent interaction skills
  • Communication skills: strong presentation/ communicaiton/ facilitation skills (oral and written)
  • Works well in a team environment, with the ability to work independently. Proven team leadership, mentoring, and project management skills
  • Results-oriented with the ability to bring teams together to achieve targets and goals
  • Super-User Level of Proficiency in SAP in one or more Process Streams (DTS, FTM)
  • Strong time management skills

Education:

  • Four- year college bachelor degree

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years SAP experience, with detailed experience in all core ECC modules
  • 3 years of full lifecycle implementations including: Scoping and Planning, Process Design, Configuration, Testing, Deployment, and Post Go-Live Support
  • Experience with all aspects of the system implementation including, but not limited to, gathering requirements, designing the future state solution, the development objects related to their process scope, as well as supporting testing and post implementation support
  • Experience with system design, configuration, customization, integration, testing and support
  • Knowledge of integration points and the order in which these must be executed
  • Experience working with design, implementation, and support of knowledge management solutions  and related technologies for collaborative information sharing
  • Experience with gap analysis and strategic roadmap/blueprint development
  • Previous supervisor and/or leadership experience desired
  • Demonstrated business acumen required
  • ERP certification(s) preferred
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

 

 

 

Work Environment

  • Both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Minimal travel (10% or less)
  • May be asked to work a flexible work schedule.
