Job Purpose

The Business Insights & Analytics Manager will be responsible for leading a team of high-performing analytics professionals. This role will sit within the Data & Analytics organization. They will be responsible for driving conversations around and support for reporting and analytics platforms with business partners, leading mid-to-large scale projects, and for driving best practices in the reporting platforms. They will be responsible for aligning team workflow with the priorities of the Data & Analytics strategy and business priorities. This individual will partner with data science, data governance, and architecture to ensure alignment across projects. They will need to be able to translate IT project goals, processes, and objectives to stakeholders at all levels of the organization and with varying levels of technical expertise.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage day-to-day activities to support reporting and analytics platforms (Tableau, Power BI, SAP BI)
  • Work with business partners, IT, and the Data & Analytics team to identify and prioritize new opportunities
  • Drive data literacy and training across the organization
  • Partner with Data & Analytics leadership to grow and expand the visibility of reporting and analytics
  • Establish, maintain, and measure self and teams’ progress toward organizational IT goals
  • Define and document IT processes, policies, and procedures for reporting and analytics platforms
  • Define and measure metrics and KPIs to drive accountability to teams’ objectives
  • Assign, coordinate, and review work of designated IT team
  • Consult with management to clarify systems and programs intent, identify problems, recommend changes, and determine extent of application or infrastructure systems changes required
  • Revise or direct revision of existing programs/software/services to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements
  • Hire, coach, mentor and evaluate employees; provide clear communication and leadership
  • Work on IT projects to support successful delivery of on time/on budget outcomes; may also lead smaller projects
  • Partner with PMO to follow specified project management processes and policies
  • Work with IT vendors & service providers to support the objectives of the IT service delivery model
  • Consult with staff in other IT groups to coordinate activities
  • Develop, implement and manage annual operational budget for tools, people, and incidentals for assigned team
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of leadership and management principles
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of reporting technologies (Tableau, Power BI, SAP BI)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of architecture and integration technologies (Snowflake, Alteryx, DBT, SAP BW/HANA, Azure)
  • Strong critical thinking, project management, negotiation and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectives
  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and with business partners

 

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of progressive leadership experience in information technology or related field
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid office and remote environment
  • Rare/occasional travel required

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Specialized certifications desirable
