Job Description: 

Job Purpose

The safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Finishing End painting equipment to ensure the highest possible percentage of “A grade” siding panels.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Consistently demonstrate safety as a core value and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of the complex paint systems and use that understanding to operate in the safest, most efficient manner possible.
  • Anticipate and respond to reports of paint quality issues and solve problems efficiently
  • Perform full operation of finishing end painting equipment
  • Be responsible for performing all required quality inspections and testing pertinent to paint quality and application. (wet mill test, viscosity, panel appearance checks, etc)
  • Ensure that all reports associated with the paint application process are completed accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Assist in identifying and developing safety and quality enhancing procedures
  • Be jointly responsible for keeping all areas of the finishing area clean and safe.
  • Assist in the training of new or inexperienced employees
  • Understand and adhere to all environmental policies and procedures including but not limited to spill response, general waste, and paint waste disposal procedures.
  • To ensure proper PPE is worn at all times.
  • To perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor/Finishing Lead Hand

  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability
  • Willing to be trained to perform various operations positions
  • Willing to work various shifts as scheduled on a weekly basis and be available for additional work as the need arises.
  • The ability to satisfactorily complete an essential skills exam based on duties related to the position
  • Competent in the abilities and required fitness to perform the duties of the job

 

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum of 2 years' Idustrail Experience will be considered an asset
