Implements and administers HR policies/procedures and programs at one or more assigned facility, or corporate HR Programs.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide consultation regarding HR operations, programs, systems, employee relations and compliance issues.
  • Assist supervisors and managers by providing solutions for complex personnel situations
  • Assist with investigations, employee concerns, complaints, and other issues
  • Participate in negotiations, build union relationships, and manage the local administration of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Use HR systems to compile employee information, sometimes containing confidential and sensitive information
  • Coordinate and conduct orientation, mentorship, education and training. Ensure timely and consistent delivery.
  • Assist with administering job postings, and managing recruitment and workforce planning processes for site
  • Ensure payroll, Performance Reviews, Performance and Action Plans, Corrective Action Reports and other documents are accurately maintained 
  • Address benefit plan questions, may administer hourly and salaried benefits programs at the plant site
  • some administrative tasks will be required

What do I need to be successful?

  • Working knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR strategies or ability to learn
  • Working knowledge of compensation, benefits, safety, training, and workforce planning practices and principles or ability to learn
  • Working knowledge of HR systems, including payroll, or ability to learn
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software

Education

  • Diploma or degree in HR, Industrial Relations, Business, or related field preferred
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
