Job Description: 

Job Purpose

Manage Green End operations, employees and contractors, and maintenance and reliability activities in the area, while meeting mill and corporate objectives safely and efficiently

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive safety and the continuous improvement of safety culture for employees and contractors by supporting safety programs, developing SOP’s, and enforcing safety rules.
  • Develop and communicate goals, objectives, and performance measures in area of responsibility.
  • Supervise subordinates; plan and assign work assignments including preventative maintenance, unplanned repairs, housekeeping, and ensuring participation in training and safety programs.
  • Preparation and communication of work schedules, as well as coaching, performance management, up to initiating and assisting with corrective action.
  • Prepare regular and requested reports to update other teams in progress and compliance.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budget and assist with cost management.
  • Lead and participate in capital projects, process improvement, cost reduction and continuous improvement projects. May manage capital projects within area of responsibility.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What do I need to be successful?

  • In-depth knowledge of the Green End equipment and our manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of safety, health and environmental rules, laws, requirements and applicable LP programs.

  • Knowledge of OEE and processes that ensures continuous improvement (safety, maintenance, quality, and manufacturing).

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and the ability to problem solve

  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Basic budgeting and financial analysis skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources.

  • Ability to develop effective partnerships within and outside of manufacturing.

  • Ability to interpret and apply corporate policies and procedures.

  • Ability to motivate, coach and lead direct reports

  • Ability to use computer and supporting software.

  • Demonstrated mechanical ability

Experience

  • 7+ years’ industry experience
  • 4+ years supervisory/management experience
