Job Purpose

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, process control and instrumentation work in a fabricating and finishing facility.  Oversee mechanical maintenance department, diagnose equipment failures and repair problems as they arise.  Supervise, coordinate and lead employees within the Maintenance Department.  Develop, manage, and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs.  Responsible for the continued improvement/development of reliability programs and processes that have direct impact on key areas.  Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive failures.

  • Ensure safety of all employees and contractors working in operating unit or department by driving continuous improvement towards a true safety culture. This includes supporting all corporate safety programs; developing SOP’s, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with all standards and programs (safety, environmental, quality, maintenance and manufacturing policies and procedures) within area of responsibility.
  • Lead staff development in training and evaluating & guiding performance.
  • Assist with hiring and orientating new employees.
  • Forecast, develop, and manage the maintenance budget.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to meet plant objectives, diagnose complex equipment problems, meet plant goals and manage department budget.
  • Develop and lead preventative/predictive maintenance, including working with Hydraulics, Instrumentation, Process Control, Electrical, Pneumatic, Power Transmissions, Welding, and Fabrication, vibration analysis, balancing, alignment, oil analysis and non-destructive testing (NDT).
  • Manage and oversee parts and maintenance programs and inventory.
  • Work closely with vendors, regulatory agencies, corporate engineering and project managers to accomplish plant goals and objectives.

What do I need to be successful?

QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY

  • In-depth practical knowledge of manufacturing process
  • In-depth knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability systems and process improvement process.
  • A creative approach to new ideas.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Knowledge of company products, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of plant equipment, operations, predictive/preventative maintenance and CMMS systems and effective project management practices.

 

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field required.

 

EXPERIENCE 

  • 7+ years’ directly related maintenance management experience.
  • 5+ years’ mechanical and/or electrical supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years; predictive/preventative maintenance systems experience.

Education

  • Plant & office environment.  Exposure to machinery, electrical sources, dust, chemicals, & loud noise.
  • Some travel during training (30%)
