Job Purpose

This position will support our Siding Engineering team as a Summer Intern from May 2024 – August 2024, and will be based at one of our Siding Facilities. This is a paid, full time Internship. The selected candidate will report to a Siding Regional Engineer supporting multiple facilities and projects.

  • Hayward, Wisconsin 
  • Tomahawk, Wisconsin 
  • Bath, New York 

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn the process of manufacturing Engineered Wood products.
  • Gain exposure to the one or more of the following fields within wood manufacturing industry:
    • Process Engineering, Process Controls and Automation, Maintenance & Reliability, & Industrial Engineering.
  • Develop or assist in the development of capital projects per LP’s CPMS process. Develop scope, schedule, budget, and forecasted spends. Upload into LP’s Capital Planning software for approvals.  If time permits, intern will execute a portion of the project work.  The project will be pre-determined and appropriate for intern’s abilities.
  • Review and update plant/facility drawings as required per project requirements.
  • Participate in mentoring opportunities from engineering and production staff.

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Engineering

Work Environment

  • This position will be based at one of our Siding facilities and have the opportunity to work from home/remote on a hybrid schedule.
