Job Description: 

Job Purpose

 

To schedule and perform preventative and predictive maintenance functions as a journeyman level Millwright under minimal supervision.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Consistently demonstrate safety as the highest priority and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Schedule and perform complex preventative and predictive maintenance functions.
  • Schedule and perform complex equipment repairs.
  • Perform general fabrication and machinist work.
  • Troubleshoot problems, as necessary.
  • Take elective cross training.
  • Communicate with Lead Millwright, Maintenance Supervisor, Site Supply Department and venders for parts and supplies.
  • Communicate with operators about maintenance items (handoff meeting, work orders, etc.).
  • Assure adequate spare parts and components exits for repair.
  • Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, and Plant Superintendent.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all environmental policies and procedures including: Spill response, general waste disposal, and hazardous material handling procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong time management, organization and prioritizing skills.
  • Possess knowledge, demonstrate competency in, and obey all applicable company, state, & federal safety policies.
  • Possess the ability and desire to follow all safety rules, policies, standards and constantly demonstrate safe work practices while performing all duties.
  • Expert knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance functions.
  • Expert knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Expert troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of work order systems (MP2 or equivalent) or ability to learn.
  • Team player who develops rapport with others, has good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work day shift or 12-hour shift as required.
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft programs.
  • Performs general machining work.
  • Knowledge of pollution control equipment repairs (RTOs/RCOs/ESPs, etc.).

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years labor/machine maintenance work experience.
  • Knowledge of building structure repair and machine fabrication.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
