Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To perform routine preventative electrical maintenance functions and assist higher level positions as an apprentice while attending mechatronics classes through the FAME program at Wallace State Community College. 

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform routine preventative electrical maintenance functions
  •  Assist higher level positions
  • Start program logic control (PLC) training
  • Learn and train on maintenance electrical functions
  • Perform other duties as necessary
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations 

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical functions. 
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools. 
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, and pull
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be actively enrolled in the FAME mechatronics program at Wallace State Community College Experience: No experience required. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position. 

Work Environment

OSB Manufacturing facility with exposure to heat, cold, sawdust, and other inclement conditions. Must be able to work minimum scheduled 24 hours weekly, while attending alternating class schedule and maintain grades according to FAME program guidelines.
