Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To operate the strapping equipment on the T&G line of an OSB manufacturing facility.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete packaging units processed through T&G equipment
  • Complete re-grade work on product
  • Clean T&G paint booth
  • Complete Quality checks every hour
  • Assist the T&G Operator do 20 panel.
  • Maintain and clean paint booth guns and tree arm
  • Keep the T&G blown out and swept up.
  • Keep the catwalk at the strapper cleaned.
  • Maintain the printer machines cleaned
  • Write all unit tags that is produced and turn in to supervisor
  • Manage the unused tags
  • Help the T&G operator and forklift operator if needed directed by supervisor or lead man
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

 

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Time management skills.
  • Knowledge of line position duties and functions.
  • Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to monitor multiple functions and equipment failures.

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 - 6 months experience operating equipment preferred. 
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

 

Work Environment

Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures and other inclement conditions.
