Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To operate mobile equipment on the tongue and groove line in an OSB manufacturing facility.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete operational checklist for forklift
  • Keep the T&G machine supplied with product and packaging materials and remove finished product from outfeed area
  • Keep the T&G area cleaned and units organized and put in the warehouse
  • Organize warehouse stacking lanes
  • Assist with cleaning the T&G paintbooth
  • Assist with the operation of T&G equipment including quality checks
  • Organize downgrade crossouts and empty waste dumpster
  • Assist all other forklift operators and strappers as needed or directed by supervisor or leadman
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks
  • Re-grade product as needed
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

 

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of mobile equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
  • Time management skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and pass/maintain LP forklift certification

 

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 3 – 6 months experience in mobile equipment operation preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

 

Work Environment

Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and other inclement conditions.
