Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To assist in the everyday pre-finishing duties, which include but are not limited to assist in paint or automation/expedition of product through paint line, assist in packaging functions of paint line, assist with safe assembly of corner products and operate manual spray booth as assigned, (across multiple lines) under daily direction.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Operate 3 of the same machine centers on each line, as assigned
  • Check supplies to ensure smooth operation
  • Perform general preventative maintenance & make minor adjustments to maintain equipment in good operating order
  • Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks as assigned
  • Perform general clean-up and utility duties as assigned, including sweeping floors, picking up trash, painting, cleaning equipment, etc.
  • Operate mobile equipment
  • Operate hand-held tools and equipment including heat gun, stapler and banding equipment
  • Perform visual inspections & make hourly checks in regard in quality of board condition and package appearance to ensure all product meets quality standards
  • Other duties or responsibilities not listed above may be assigned as necessary
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of equipment operation 
  • Knowledge of line position duties and functions
  • Ability to properly assemble corners and manually paint units
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Time management and prioritizing skills
  • Knowledge of general plant operation functions and housekeeping requirements
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations

 

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in equipment operation.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

 

Education

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Work Environment

  • Plant environment
  • Exposure to dust, noise and fluctuations in temperature
  • Standing 90% of the time
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on a daily basis
