Job Description:
Job Purpose
To lead and implement the procurement strategy for assigned team – owning process performance and driving completion of small to medium sized, complex projects and initiatives.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining LP’s procurement processes
- Leverage sourcing opportunities through consolidation of purchases; achieving optimal cost, quality, safety, environmental compliance, and processing efficiency
- Drive your team’s strategic direction based on goals cascaded from Sr Management
- Be responsible for your team conducting all procurement activities in accordance with the Supply Management Strategy
- Lead projects; coordinate the implementation of productivity initiatives
- Mitigate problems and errors when they arise to reduce overall impact
- Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing, results-focused talent for assigned team
- Ensure all procured goods/services meet required technical specifications and delivery schedules, and will provide LP with the greatest possible value
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
What do I need to be successful?
- 5-7 years of procurement/supply management experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to lead and perform the key responsibilities of this position
- Knowledge of and ability to develop materials management plan metrics
- Expert knowledge of business concepts, systems, and applications in assigned area (SME)
- Strong organizational and mathematical skills
- Data cleansing and analysis skills
- Contract literacy and negotiation
- Advanced in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Project management
- Delegation skills
- Excellent communication skills through all channels: email, phone, meetings (virtual & in-person)
- Self-starter and a change agent mentality
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
- Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Work Environment
- This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
- Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
- Occasional travel required
