Job Purpose

Shipping Forklift operators are tasked with preparing, loading and billing orders in a safe and efficient manner.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform minor maintenance duties such as topping up oil, fuel, equipment blow down, etc.
  • Prepare and load OSB on trucks and or rail cars using a Forklift.
  • Move rail cars in accordance with CROR guidelines.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the warehouse, rail and loading areas.
  • Completely and accurately fill out all required reports and logbooks.
  • Operate all equipment in accordance with design.
  • Participate in the development of SOPs, JSAs and Lock Out Procedures.
  • Complete general warehousing duties or duties required of the department.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Must be physically fit and able to carry up to 50 lbs. negotiate stairs while carrying heavy items, use hand tools safely and work in an environment which may be hot at times.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with a team, or at times unsupervised.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to use computer and supporting software.
  • Previous equipment experience will be considered an asset.
  • The ability to pass a medical and become CROR certified.
  • Industry experience will be considered an asset.
  • Or, any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position. 

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
