Job Purpose

To provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Performs technical and operational duties necessary to process Human Resources and Payroll data.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop moderately complex spreadsheets typically requiring the creation of basic formulas
  • Prepare correspondence, presentations and reports with minimal guidance using word processing and graphics software
  • Take notes at department or committee meetings; transcribe notes and distribute to meeting participants
  • Support Plant Manager and Business Team with administrative requests
  • Maintain department records; prepare and track expense reports, check requests and purchase orders
  • Monitor office and break room supplies and order as needed
  • Create and maintain filing systems
  • Support new hire onboarding process
  • Provide accurate and timely data entry into the HR/Payroll system to include hires, job changes, promotions, terminations and other data associated with Human Resources and Payroll while maintaining production standards 
  • Trace and correct errors to ensure accurate processing 
  • Ensure accurate wage and deduction calculations during the payroll production process 
  • Calculate and prepare manual payments, reversals, and wage adjustments for employees, including final payment and accounting adjustments 
  • Answer and process wage order notifications and deductions.   
  • Maintain documentation files and procedure manuals 
  • Maintain specialized payroll tax and accounting procedures per standards and modify in response to regulatory changes 
  • Partner with Human Resources Department and other areas regarding Human Resources and Payroll issues 

What do I need to be successful?

  • 2 years’ experience working in a Human Resources, Finance, or Payroll administration capacity
  • Experience using integrated payroll systems
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state payroll requirements, labor regulations, and wage & hour tax laws 
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources, Accounting, and Payroll operations processes and systems 
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Designation as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) through the National Payroll Institute preferred.
