Job Purpose

To manage various facets of forestry operations and forest management. May include forest development, silviculture, harvesting, road construction, planning and wood sales/purchases

Key Responsibilities

Our Peace Valley OSB facility in Fort St. John is one of the largest such mills in the world.  As a member of our team, you will be a self-motivated and high performing individual with a bias for action and safe work habits.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to our safety culture by actively participating in the Safety Program and perfoming all duties in accordance with safety rules, regulations, and policies. 
  • Managing all activities assocaited with harvesting, including supervision of logging, road construction, maintenance and deactivation, completion of waste assessments, hazard abatement, and log quality. 
  • Ensure all harvesting and road construction activities are conducted in compliance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety Requirements, forestry legislation, LP's Environmental Policy, Sustainable Forestry Principles, and Best Forestry Management Practices. 
  • Tracking, reporting and root cause analysis of safety, quality, cost, and delivery results. 
  • Assisting with harvest and road construction budgets and managing costs within your specific responsibilities. 
  • Initiating and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, First Nations, government agencies and other stakeholders. 
  • Assist with implementation of Safety Program for employees and contractors. 
  • Provide support on the implementation and maintenance of the Peace Valley forest certification program, as required. 
  • Participating in other teams projects as requested. 




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • safety conscious,
  • Excellent leadership, communication & project management skills, with the ability to work within a team environment. 
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable B.C. legislation and policies.
  • Proficient in using a computer & related software and forestry applications including GIS.


  • University Degree or Technical Diploma with a minimum of 5 years forestry experience.


  • Minimum 3 years forestry experience
  • Registered Professional Forester with the ABCFP prefered 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
