Job Purpose

General operations of OSB manufacturing systems in a safe and efficient manner according to all codes and regulations.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Performs minor repairs and applies basic welding processes.
  • Repairs bins, containers and carts.
  • Qualified in the welding processes such as arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering on a variety of materials.
  • Conducts safety checks on welding equipment and accessories.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing CMMS program associated with repairing mill equipment.
  • Assists millwrights in the completion of project work.
  • Performs related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal parts.
  • Works from prints, drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Performs standard layouts and set-ups of dimensions and tolerances.
  • Utilizes standard shop hand tools, measuring devices and equipment.
  • Performs other maintenance related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / Work Safe BC Standards.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

 

What do I need to be successful?

  • Must be physically fit and able to carry up to 50 lbs
  • Work in an environment which may be hot at times.
  • Ability to use computer and supporting software
  • 1+ years’ industry experience 
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

  • Certified Level B Welder
