Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To load/unload trucks using motorized lift equipment

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Daily inspect forklift and complete report form.
  • Effectively load trucks and railcars using forklift.
  • Ensure paint storage is correctly cycled and staged according to FIFO method.
  • Perform housekeeping duties within the warehouse and plant.
  • Remove debris from box cars.
  • Assist with effective space utilization in the warehouse area by combing rows and moving product as directed.
  • Prep rail dock for rail loading by removing rail guards, opening boxcar doors, and loosening center beam cables for loading.
  • Set rail chock on all railcars and remove when loading is complete.
  • Install boxcar seals and placards on boxcar doors.
  • Collect and properly dispose of waste and debris.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, railcars and center beams.
  • Secure loads on railcars to ensure loads arrive to customer without damage
  • Perform inventory counts/cycle counts.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks assigned not listed above in job description in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

 

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of complex equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
  • Time management skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

 

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in equipment operation.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

 

Work Environment

  • OSB Manufacturing Plant
  • Required to sit for long periods
  • Required to bend, lift up to 50 lbs
