Job Purpose
To oversee Silviculture activities and related forestry programs, including waste and residue management, planning, systems maintenance, and contract administration, while contributing expertise to other operational areas as needed, which could include hazard abatement, and harvesting, among other things.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
• Ensure personal and contractor safety in all operations.
• Plan, implement, and monitor silviculture program activities (e.g., site preparation, planting, brushing, regeneration surveys).
• Oversee waste and residue assessments, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Maintain, improve, and document forestry systems and databases (e.g., GIS, silviculture records, operational dashboards).
• Prepare and administer contracts, including bid packages, negotiations, performance oversight, and compliance monitoring.
• Track and report costs; review invoices; assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Liaise with contractors, customers, Indigenous partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and effective communication.
• Support certification requirements (e.g., SFI) and participate in internal and third-party audits.
• Contribute to provincial and trade association committees as required.
• Expectations of this position will be to help in other forestry functions such as harvesting and planning where experience and expertise allow.
• It is also expected that position will participate in community and First Nation events and assist in special projects when necessary.

Education
- Degree or diploma in forestry or related field, or equivalent operational experience.
- Professional Forester designation in BC, or ability to acquire within twelve months of start date.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of forestry experience, with emphasis on silviculture and planning.
Work Environment
• Combination of office and outdoor work, subject to varying weather and terrain conditions.
• Travel to field sites and contractor locations as required.
